He was in the U.S. Army for 24 years serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

He was a member of VFW Post #4366, American Legion Post #415 of Nazareth, and a member of the Moose Lodge in Mount Holly, N.J., for 55 years.
