Ashton Funeral Home in Easton has received Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association recognition for 165 years of service, according to a news release.
Janice Mannal, president of the association, presented an award to R. Kline Ashton Sr. and his daughter, Debra Ashton-Chase, during a recent ceremony at the 131st annual association and expo outside of Harrisburg.
Father and daughter are the fourth and fifth generations of the Ashton family in funeral service at the home, which was established in 1847.

Allentown-based Eastern Services is holding its second annual “Counters for a Cause” stone sale, which benefits wounded veterans, according to a news release.
The sale is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the 601 S. 10th St. business in the city. Granite and other stone remnants will be sold. Three percent of proceeds go to Home For Our Troops, a nonprofit group that builds specially adapted homes for wounded veterans.
Last year’s sale raised $32,000 for the group.

The Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Business Council will be honoring two women this month at its annual luncheon, the chamber announced today.
Stephanie Hnatiw, of Macungie, will receive the 2012 ATHENA Award, which honors individuals who demonstrate excellence in their business or profession. She is the executive director of the YWCA of Bethlehem.
Michelle Chrin, of Hellertown, will receive the 2012 ATHENA Young Professional Award. She is a marketing associate for Caruso Benefits Group Inc.

The Business and Commerce Association of Forks will be holding a roundtable discussion about marketing Forks Township businesses, the association announced today.
Registration and breakfast in advance of the discussion is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Forks Community Center, 500 Zucksville Road. The discussion starts at 8 a.m.
