View full sizeA sign for a Trader Joe's store in Los Angeles is shown in February 2008.Northampton County real estate records show that Trader Joe’s East, Inc., bought a local tract of land for about $2 million, according to a report published by Lehigh Valley Business.
The popular grocer already has a warehouse/distribution center near the new property at 6895 Silver Crest Road in East Allen Township.
It is unclear what the use of the new property will be, but a spokesman told Lehigh Valley Business that it will be used for some business purpose, not a store.
There are currently no Trader Joe’s stores in the Lehigh Valley. Residents have launched online campaigns in an effort to bring Trader Joe's stores into the region.
