He was arrested in Phillipsburg after his car was spotted parked on South Main Street.
An Easton man was arrested on charges he stole $50,000 worth of jewelry from a Raritan Township home, according to police reports.
John Miller, 46, was working as a contractor at a home on Pony Lane when he allegedly stole the jewelry Oct. 10 from the homeowner, township police said. Police identified him as a suspect in the theft and issued a warrant for his arrest, according to reports.
Phillipsburg police arrested Miller on Oct. 28, after spotting his car parked on South Main Street, Chief James Faulborn said. An officer on patrol noticed that the vehicle was unregistered and that the owner was wanted out of Raritan Township, Faulborn said.
He was transported to the police department and issued a ticket for driving an unregistered vehicle, Faulborn said. Miller was then turned over to Raritan Township police, according to reports. He posted $15,000 bail, according to jail records.
