Police also say a woman with drugs in her car drove twice the speed limit, and that a drunk driver fell asleep at the wheel.
A 31-year-old homeless woman, carrying empty heroin bags, stole a purse Friday from a woman attending the Peace Candle lighting in Easton, police said.
Cynthia Marie Allen ran after the purse snatching at 7:20 p.m. at North Bank and Northampton streets and was stopped half a block away by nearby officers, according to Easton police.
She's charged with robbery, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Police also reported the following crimes in Northampton County:
• A drunk 25-year-old in a BMW made an illegal turn in front of a cop who had the green light, police said.
Jarrett C. Sandiford, who lives on Centre Square in Easton, had a red light at 2:15 a.m. Nov. 12 on the Route 22 ramp onto Route 512 in Hanover Township, Northampton County, and turned left, cutting off a cop, according to Colonial Regional police.
Sandiford was charged with summary traffic offenses and drunken driving. Police said his blood-alcohol content was 0.22 percent.
• A 24-year-old with drugs in her car drove more than twice the speed limit as a cop followed her, police said.
Laura Montalvo, of the 1300 block of Adams Street in Northampton, ran a stop sign at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stoke Park Road and Lord Byron Drive in Hanover Township, Northampton County, according to Colonial Regional police.
An officer who followed her said she drove 75 miles per hour. The speed limit was 35 miles per hour.
She had drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana in her car, police said.
• A drunk 46-year-old fell asleep in a truck and crashed it in a parking lot, police said.
Raymond L. Yankovich, of Parkview Court in Bath, was behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado that a witness saw roll slowly through a parking lot at Brown-Daub Chevrolet in Lower Nazareth Township, according to Colonial Regional police.
It rolled into a Dumpster, police said. Police said Yankovich was found uninjured and sleeping behind the wheel of the truck, and that his blood-alcohol content was 0.29 percent.
