Gov. Chris Christie's current wave of popularity apparently knows no bounds.

A new poll released today shows the first-term Republican receiving positive ratings from groups that typically oppose him: public workers, women and Democrats.

The Monmouth University/Asbury Park Press Poll shows 52 percent of public worker households approve of Christie's job performance, as do 66 percent of women and 57 percent of Democrats.

The 50-year-old governor announced his intention last week to seek re-election. This is the latest public opinion poll to show Christie with over-the-top approval ratings after his handling of Superstorm Sandy.

The telephone poll of 816 adults was conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 and has a sampling error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
