The warm morning will become a colder afternoon.
A flood warning, which initially included Hunterdon and Bucks counties, was extended to Northampton and Warren counties until the middle of the afternoon as a cold front coming across the region brought torrential downpours into the daylight hours, the National Weather Service reports.
Heavy rain fell for hours and accumulations in the region have been more than an inch, according to WFMZ. Skies cleared by 8:30 as the front passed to the east.
A flood warning means small streams, creeks and urban areas are at imminent threat for flooding or already experiencing flooding, the weather service says. There was flooding reported at Bushkill Drive and Zucksville Road in Forks Township and a car was trapped in the flooding on Zucksville Road.
The weather service warns people not to drive into flooded areas.
While it was warm early this morning, temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day and a coating of snow could happen later in the day, WFMZ reports.
