Emergency dispatchers and state police troopers across the Lehigh Valley and northwest New Jersey say people for the most part used common sense and stayed off the roads late Wednesday night into this morning.

No major incidents were being reported on the region's highways, after mayhem reigned on Wednesday during a snow and ice storm.

For the most part, officials say, main roads at 7 this morning were wet but clear of ice, while secondary routes were slushy and icy. The temperature in Easton was 36 and expected to go up a few degrees throughout the day as light rain falls. There could be a dividing line in northern Northampton County where more ice would be found, Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast reported.

Speed limits were set at 45 during Wednesday's storm.
