A winter weather advisory issued for the region this afternoon by the National Weather Service calls for a mix of rain, sleet and snow overnight and into Wednesday morning.
The advisory extends from 10 p.m. to 11 a.m. and predicts rain and sleet will arrive first late this evening. Snow and freezing rain will mix later, and it will change back to rain by mid to late morning, the service says.
The forecast predicts an inch of snow or less, but there could be some ice accumulating which would make the morning commute hazardous.
