A Phillipsburg man struggled with police on Saturday morning after they found him in possession of a stolen car outside an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Easton, according to court records.
Easton police said they found the stolen vehicle in the first block of North 12th Street.
After canvassing some of the neighborhood, police checked an Alcohol Anonymous meeting going on nearby. There they found Brian M. Mulrooney, 23, of the 500 block of Roseberry Street, who said the vehicle was his.
Mulrooney became uncooperative when informed the vehicle was reported stolen, court papers say. He allegedly struggled with police and head-butted one officer.
Mulrooney was charged with receiving stolen property, aggravated assault and resisting arrest, court papers say. He was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Barner in Lower Nazareth Township and sent to Northampton County prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
