By next week the highs will be near 50 and some lows won't go below the freezing point, forecasters predict.
Here's something to focus on if you don't want to think about the 2 inches of snow forecast to fall later this afternoon into tonight:
46 degrees. Near 50. Low around 32.
Yes, Tuesday, the National Weather Service predicts, will put our recent cold snap in the rear view mirror. And it will be even warmer on Wednesday. And while our recent daytime highs have barely reached 20 degrees, the overnight low come Wednesday is projected to be at the freezing mark.
And rain. Yes, by the middle of next week we will be worrying about rain.
But first, there's today. A fine snow should start in mid-afternoon, the weather service predicts, with about an inch falling early and a second inch in the evening. And then, come Monday, there could be ice in the midday.
Today's snow will adhere almost immediately to roads and sidewalks and the rush hour will likely be slippery, forecasters predict.
