Be careful as you head in to work.
The first thing you're going to notice as you head out to work this morning is that it's warmer than it's been in a few weeks.
It's 36 degrees as I write this just before 6 o'clock, and it's going to get up to 45 today, AccuWeather predicts. And then it surges up to 61 on a rainy Wednesday, the weather service suggests.
But the other thing you want to watch out for before the warmer weather has a real impact is that sidewalks this morning are a mixed bag. If people shoveled and/or salted on Monday, it's likely their sidewalks are clear; if they didn't, walkways can be an adventure, especially at higher elevations.
Some of the sidewalks on my walk in this morning were quite simply gnarly. Others, especially those owned by Lafayette College, which had salt down Monday morning, were clear.
Take an extra few minutes this morning so you don't slip-slide away. And watch out for fog, which is another adventure in the making this morning.
After schools were closed on Monday, most look like they're opening on time today. There are some delays in Carbon County.
