The Hitter’s Edge, a sports facility in Whitehall Township that features batting cages and other amenities, is under new management and is marking the change with a grand reopening.
The event is scheduled for 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the facility at 3679 Eberhart Road.
The new management team is the Neiman Sports Group, an Upper Saucon Township-based company owned by DeSales University baseball coach Tim Neiman. The general manager of The Hitter’s Edge is Dan Villanti.
The Neiman Sports Group also manages several other facilities in the region, including the Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem and the Pocono Dome, a new 89,000-square-foot sports facility in Hamilton Township, Monroe County.

Wegmans, which has three supermarkets in the Lehigh Valley, announced this week it has collected $1.38 million for hunger relief programs, including the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley.
Second Harvest is receiving $58,573 for its programs, according to a news release from the grocer. The collection program allows Wegmans customers to donate $1 or any other amount to hunger relief at checkout. All the money collected goes to each store’s local food bank.
This latest round of money comes from the grocer’s most recent campaign, which started in the fall.
Altogether, 45 Wegmans stores participated in the campaign in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Virginia.

The Community Action Development Corporation of Allentown is beginning its 13th “Start Your Business” program Feb. 11, according to a news release.
The 20-week program is held from 6:30 to 8:30 Monday nights at 702 Hamilton St., Allentown.
The news release says the program was created for people of low to moderate income who are thinking about starting a business or expanding their current business in the city.
There is a $99 enrollment fee.
