The district judge admitted to dismissing the traffic citations against her car as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

A suspended central Pennsylvania judge has acknowledged dismissing traffic citations against her own car as part of an agreement with prosecutors that reduces the most serious charges and dismisses others.

The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era says Magisterial District Judge Kelly Ballentine pleaded guilty Friday in Lancaster County Court to three counts of tampering with public in connection with three parking tickets in December 2010 and January 2011.

Ballentine denied any intent to defraud the county. Prosecutors dropped six other charges and reduced the tampering counts from felonies to misdemeanors.

The judge said he would defer sentencing pending action by the state Judicial Conduct Board, which could revoke the salary Ballentine has been paid over the past year on suspension — or, he said, could disbar her altogether.
