If you're headed "over the river and through the woods" this Thanksgiving, you'll be happy to hear gas prices are once again on the decline.

According to AllentownGasPrices.com, the average price per gallon is $3.38 today, down 3.4 cents from last week. Across the nation, the average price has fallen 5.7 cents over the past week to $3.36 per gallon. Prices in this region have fallen 7.8 cents from a month ago.

The average prices this week still reflect a 42.7-cent hike per gallon from the same day last year.

"Gasoline prices have continued their slow decline in the last week across a solid majority of the United States, with the national average sagging to its lowest level since this past February," according to GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "Many motorists may be giving thanks for the lower gasoline prices until they realize that average prices will still easily exceed prior Thanksgiving Day records."
