The man was arrested after the real pilot arrived, WPVI reports.
A fake pilot was arrested Wednesday evening after getting into the cockpit of a US Airways flight from Philadelphia International Airport to West Palm Beach, Fla., WPVI-TV is reporting.
French national Philippe Jernnard LaRocelle, 61, was a ticketed passenger wearing what appeared to be an Air France pilot's uniform when he sat in the cockpit jump seat, the Philadelphia TV station said.
When the actual pilot arrived, LaRocelle couldn't provide proper identification and was seated outside the cockpit, Channel 6 reports.
He was arrested by Philadelphia police and charged with criminal trespassing, breaking into a structure, forgery-alter writing, tampering with records or ID, false impression, and false identification to law enforcement, WPVI said. He was jailed in lieu of $1 million bail, according to the report.
