The unemployment rate in the Lehigh Valley dropped one-tenth of a percentage point from January to February, but the region still lags the national rate, state officials said this morning.
The Lehigh Valley unemployment rate, which includes Warren County in New Jersey, was 8.6 percent in February compared to 8.7 percent in January, according to the latest report from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry.
The national rate in February was 7.7 percent. Pennsylvania’s rate in the same month was 8.1 percent while New Jersey posted a statewide unemployment rate of 9.3 percent.
