One of the minors was a 20-year-old former student charged with drunken driving after crashing into an Amish buggy later that day, authorities say.
A western Pennsylvania high school principal is on administrative leave after police charged her with providing alcohol to minors — including a 20-year-old former student charged with drunken driving after crashing into an Amish buggy later that day.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Lakeview High School Principal Elizabeth Auer. The Herald of Sharon reports she was placed on leave Wednesday, the same day police charged her with two counts of furnishing liquor to minors. The Associated Press could not immediately locate a phone number for Auer, but the Lakeview School District says Auer has denied wrongdoing.
Police investigating the crash learned Auer gave beer to two former students doing yardwork for her July 11. The 20-year-old told police that Auer gave him beer when he was still a student, too.
