An overturned dump truck carrying dirt and stone closed one lane in each direction on Route 33 near the Interstate 78 interchange earlier today.
The rollover was initially reported at 4:20 p.m. at mile-marker 1 on Route 33 North near the Freemansburg Avenue exit, but radio reports said that one lane in each direction was closed down due to debris from the crash.
It was initially reported the driver was trapped in the truck, but a dispatcher later said the driver was out of the truck, lying on the ground and receiving medical treatment, according to radio reports.
Video from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation showed traffic backed up on Route 33 southbound. PennDOT reported on its Twitter account that the crash was cleared at about 6:30 p.m.
