Members of the Phillipsburg Fire Department respond this afternoon to Rose Street in response to calls for a natural gas odor. Easton had similar calls this afternoon.
Multiple calls came in beginning about 2:30 p.m. and continued until nearly 4 p.m.
In Phillipsburg, the search focused on the first block of Rose Street. Fire Chief Rich Hay was not immediately available for comment.
Easton calls came in from North Fourth Street in the city's Downtown and College Hill. A city fire official said no source was found.
