The United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley celebrated the end of its 2012 capital campaign tonight, announcing it raised nearly $10.3 million -- a 5 percent increase over the prior year.
Staffers, volunteers and donors gathered at Revolutions in Lower Saucon Township to mark the occasion, deliver awards and set the stage for the 2013 capital campaign.
Todd Donnelly, who led the 2012 campaign, said the $10,279,792 was nearly $500,000 more than collected in 2011.
The capital campaign chairman for 2013 is Paul Farr, executive vice president and chief financial officer for PPL Corp.
Awards presented for outstanding contributions to the community included:
- The Morning Call Silver Bowl Award, to Lisa Daugherty, of Victaulic.
