Heart association recognizes Lehigh Valley businesses, real estate guru coming to Bethlehem - business briefs

Also, Just Born certified as 'landfill free enterprise.'

Two Lehigh Valley businesses have been designated as American Heart Association “gold level” businesses for providing fit-friendly worksites, the heart association announced last week.

Air Products, which is based in Upper Macungie Township, and B.Braun Medical, Inc., which is based in Bethlehem, received the designation.

The heart association said in a news release that the companies were recognized because they both carry out wellness activities such as walking programs, gym access and making healthy foods available in company meeting and vending machines.

Ryan Serhant, one of New York’s top residential brokers, is coming to Bethlehem next month to speak during an event presented by the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors.

Serhant and his business partner, Nick Jabbour, will share industry trends, career challenges and pathways to success in real estate during the 5:30 p.m. May 30 event at Musikfest Café.

Serhant is executive vice president and managing director at Nest Seekers International in New York City. He stars on “Million Dollar Listing New York,” a documentary series that airs on Bravo. Serhant has sold and closed nearly $500 million since beginning his career in New York real estate four years ago, according to a news release.

His presentation will be followed by a Manhattan-themed cocktail party.

Bethlehem-based Just Born announced last week that it has been certified as a landfill-free enterprise by Sustainable Water Solutions, a provider of environmentally friendly commercial and industrial waste handling.

Just Born, which makes Peeps and other candy, recycles 92 percent of its waste; the other 8 percent is taken to a facility where the waste is converted to energy, according to a news release from Just Born.

To coincide with Earth Day last week, Just Born unveiled a banner declaring the new certification at its corporate headquarters on Stefko Boulevard.
