She has been sentenced three years of house arrest followed by two years of probation.

A judge has ordered former state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin to appear before him next week to be resentenced on campaign corruption charges.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported the order setting the hearing for Tuesday.

Allegheny County Judge Lester Nauhaus could not immediately be reached for comment and his staff says the order doesn't give a reason for the resentencing.

The judge sentenced Melvin to three years' house arrest, fined her $55,000 and ordered her to send a picture of herself handcuffed to other judges in the state apologizing for her crimes, in this case, using her state-paid staff and those of her sister, a former state senator, to work on her election campaigns for the state's highest court.

Melvin's attorneys and the district attorney have declined comment.
