Flood advisory issued for Lehigh Valley, northern New Jersey

Rain should continue into tonight. Tomorrow will be clear, but the National Weather Service is predicting possible frost Monday night.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. issued a flood advisory until about 4 p.m. for portions of the Lehigh Valley and northern New Jersey.

A half inch of rain may fall in a brief period this afternoon, resulting in urban and small stream flooding in southeastern Lehigh and Northampton counties, southern Warren County and northwestern Hunterdon County, the weather service said.

The weather service is forecasting thunderstorms likely before 10 p.m. followed by scattered showers and possible gusty winds.

Sunday, Mother's Day, is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 66, but a low Sunday night could dip to 36.

Monday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 59, but a low of 34 at night. The weather service is predicting possible frost late Monday night into Tuesday morning in Carbon and Monroe Counties.
