A former New Jersey Turnpike executive has been named deputy executive director of operations for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, according to a news release.

The search process began in August and attracted dozens of applicants, according to DRJTBC Chairman David DeGerolamo.

The deputy executive director of operations is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the commission's 20 main-river bridges, 34 approach bridges and corresponding approach roads, access ramps and support facilities such as toll plazas and administrative buildings.

Hill also will supervise a number of departments, including electronic security and surveillance; information technology; plants and facilities; security, safety and training; and the commission's three geographic operating districts. He reports to the executive director.
