New Jersey’s education commissioner has overturned the firing of a high school athletic director who was caught on camera putting dog waste on his ex-wife’s car.

The Haddon Township Board of Education previously stripped Alan Carr and an administrative law judge upheld the ruling.

But Commissioner Christopher Cerf said in a ruling May 15 that though his actions were “reprehensible,” he did not deserve to be fired. He said he should give up 120 days of pay and be suspended for an additional six months without pay.

The decision was first reported today by the Courier-Post.

Carr was caught on camera May 12 putting the waste on the windshield of his ex-wife’s car in a school parking lot. His ex-wife is also a teacher at Haddon Township High School.
