A Kunkletown man was injured after an encounter with a teen driver today.
A Monroe County man was airlifted to a local hospital following a crash this afternoon in Polk Township, Pennsylvania State Police in Lehighton said.
William F. Warnken, 66, of Kunkletown, was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Beltzville Drive approaching Leisure Drive in Polk Township before the 1:47 p.m. crash, police say.
Sarah E. Conklin, 18, was driving with three teenage passengers northbound on Leisure Drive when she stopped at the stop sign and proceeded out onto Beltzville Drive as Warnken was approaching the intersection, police said.
Warnken then swerved to avoid crashing into Conklin's vehicle, lost control of the motorcycle and it turned on its side, police said.
Police said Warnken suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. Conklin, who was uninjured, received a motor vehicle citation, police said.
Conklin's three passengers were not injured in the crash.
