A vote is expected today on a 20-year pact with Cablevision.
New Jersey Transit's board is set to vote on a proposal to provide wireless Internet service at train stations and on trains.
Today's agenda says the proposed contract with Cablevision is for 20 years and won't cost NJ Transit anything.
Details are to be revealed during the board meeting, including whether non-Cablevision customers would be charged for the Wi-Fi service.
NJ Transit selected Cablevision over Illinois-based RAILband Group.
The project is expected to be completed by 2016.
NJ Transit said a recent customer service survey found 67 percent of its passengers use Internet devices to get service information while commuting.
