Police say the group had about 500 packets of heroin and a large amount of cash in a vehicle pulled over Sunday for a traffic infraction.
Four heroin dealers were arrested Sunday during a traffic stop while leaving the Party in the Poconos NASCAR race in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, according to Pennsylvania State police.
Police pulled over a vehicle that tried to make an illegal turn against traffic on Route 115, authorities report. As the state trooper came over to the vehicle, police say he immediately saw drug paraphernalia.
Inside the vehicle police found Laquan Darrell Allison-Brown, 23, of Stroudsburg, Pa.; Callie Lauren Godfrey, 20, of Stroudsburg, Pa.; Erik Charles Funk, 23, of Cresco, Pa. and Samantha Leigh Poalillo, 19, of Cresco, Pa.
As police began searching the vehicle, Funk and Poalillo allegedly began trying to hide packets of heroin in Poalillo's pants.
A bag found near Godfrey contained about 500 bags of heroin, police say. A large amount of cash was also recovered inside the suspects' vehicle, authorities report.
Allison-Brown, Godfrey, Funk and Paolillo were charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin as well as related offenses, police report.
State police say all four defendants were sent to Monroe County prison.
