Police were called after the man allegedly started banging on the door of a nearby house after wrecking his car.
A Hellertown man faces drunken driving and weapons charges after an early morning wreck Saturday in Greenwich Township, according to court records.
Tony Stoneback, 34, of the 2500 block of Alpine Drive, made his first appearance today in state Superior Court in Belvidere after police allege that his car veered off Beatty Road and struck a retaining wall while he was driving drunk Saturday .
Stoneback then got out of his damaged car and began pounding on the front door of a nearby home, Greenwich Township police said. Officers responded to the home at 3:38 a.m. after receiving calls about an unknown man pounding on the door, according to a news release.
Officers found Stoneback standing next to his disabled vehicle with the smell of alcohol on his breath, according to police. While he was being placed under arrest, officers found a loaded handgun in his front pocket, police said.
Authorities charged Stoneback with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, court records show.
He was sent to the Warren County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
