The afternoon crash backed traffic up for about 5 miles.
All lanes are reopened after a mid-afternoon, multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County, according to New Jersey State Police.
The accident occurred at 2:53, involving two cars and a tractor-trailer, and closed a portion of I-78 East for about 40 minutes, state police at Perryville said. Traffic backed up for about 5 miles, police said.
Police could not give details on what happened but said nine people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
