Hans Sigvardsson has been named president of Handicare USA in Allentown. He will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s day-to-day business within the United States.

Sigvardsson last served as senior vice president of sales, North America. Before that he served as president of Romedic, a Handicare company. Before that he held a number of executive positions in the patient handling industry, including vice president of sales for AEG Modicon, an industrial automation company.

Based in Moss, Norway, Handicare is a provider of safe handling and mobility solutions for hospital patients, the elderly and physically disabled. Products include wheelchairs, patient lifts and bathroom fixtures.

Dr. Renu Shah, optometrist, has joined Califon Eye Associates. Shah will provide comprehensive eye care to patients from young children to senior citizens. She is particularly experienced in fitting complicated contact lens designs.

Shah earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, where she majored in biological sciences and psychology, and a doctorate in optometry from New England College of Optometry. Shah’s training included clinical rotations in contact lenses, pediatrics, primary care and ocular disease.

Califon Eye Associates is one of the five offices of Primary Eye Associates, which also maintains offices in Sparta, Stanhope, Blairstown and Branchville.

John A. Kristel, president and chief executive officer of Allentown-based Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, has been named chairman of the board directors of Good Shepherd Penn Partners in Philadelphia. He will replace Sara T. "Sally" Gammon, who also had served as president and CEO of Good Shepherd.

Kristel joined Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network following a four-year term as chief executive officer of Carlisle Regional Medical Center in Carlisle, Pa. Before that he served as CEO of Berwick Hospital Center in Berwick, Pa., and as associate CEO of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center in Pottstown, Pa.

From 1998 to 2006, Kristel served with Tenet Health System in Philadelphia in roles including chief operating officer of Graduate Hospital; and director of operations, director of rehabilitation and the medicine clinic and manager of physical therapy, all at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Timothy R. Dillingham has been appointed Good Shepherd Penn Partners board vice-chairman and Roy Schwartz, vice president, managed care and payer relations of Penn Medicine, has been named a board member.

Good Shepherd Penn Partners is a joint venture of Allentown-based Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network and Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine.

Tengalia has been named vice president and portfolio manager. He will help clients manage funds and monitor investment performance for individuals, trusts, estates, pensions, profit-sharing plans, charitable organizations and government entities.

Tenaglia has more than 30 years of trust and investment experience. He has served as president and board member of the Pennsylvania Group III Corporate Fiduciaries and was twice appointed to the Board of School Directors of the Bethlehem Area School District. He is also a member of the Bethlehem Area Education Association, Morning Star Rotary Club of Bethlehem and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Tenaglia earned a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and has completed graduate courses at both Temple University and Lehigh University.

Kapinas has been named vice president of Valley National Financial Advisors and trust representative of Valley National Trust Services, a trust representative office of National Advisors Trust Co. She will work out of the Bethlehem office working with clients, their legal professionals and the trust company to coordinate services.

Kapinas has more than 30 years of experience in trust operations and administration, business development and office and relationship management. She holds certifications in NCS trust accounting system management and the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, trust administration from the Central Atlantic School of Trust at Bucknell University.

Kapinas is a member and past president of the Estate Planning Council of the Lehigh Valley and the Corporate Fiduciaries Group. She is a member of the Professional Advisory Council of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation, Planned Giving Council of the Lehigh Valley Health Network and Muhlenberg College Board of Associates. She also serves on the boards of the Lehigh Valley Consortium of Professional Organizations and The Bach Choir of Bethlehem.

Candy Barr Heimbach, of Bethlehem, attorney with law firm Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin in Bethlehem, has been named to the 2013 Top 50 Women Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine. She also was named in 2011 and 2012.

Heimbach focuses her practice on medical and dental malpractice defense, and long-term care defense.

Pennsylvania Super Lawyers recognizes lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
