Businesses, associations cited with alleged liquor law violations

Among the violators announced by the state police were Champ's Corner in Easton as well as several Lehigh Valley fire stations and athletic clubs.

The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited several local bars and associations with violating the commonwealth liquor law's, according to a series of state police press releases.

Violations are subject to penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor infractions and up to $5,000 for those deemed more serious.

Police report the following locations were issued citations:

• Heights Athletic Association, 2345 Easton Ave. in Bethlehem,  allegedly sold beverages to nonassociation members, operated gambling devises or paraphernalia without a license, failed to maintain records of the liquor code, falsified records covering business operations and improperly admitted members to the association.

The violations occurred between Nov. 15, 2012, and March 25, authorities say.

• Champ's Corner, 91 Larry Holmes Drive in Easton, was cited April 16 for allegedly failing to maintain malt or brewed beverage dispensing system cleaning records.

• Citizens Fire Co. No. 2, 1017 Pennsylvania Ave. in Emmaus, was cited for allegedly selling alcohol to nonmembers Nov. 21, 2012.

• The Lynn Athletic Association, 1629 E. Ninth St. in Bethlehem, was cited for alleged possession or operation of gambling devices or paraphernalia between Aug. 22, 2012, and March 29.

• The Petersville Rod and Gun Club, 550 Club Road in Moore Township, allegedly possessed or operated gambling devices or paraphernalia on Jan. 31, Feb. 27 and March 13.

• Southwark Hose Co. No. 9, 344 Second St. in Catasauqua, was cited with selling alcohol to nonmembers and possession or operation of gambling devices or paraphernalia on various dates between Oct. 27, 2012, and Feb. 2.

• The Catasauqua Post No. 215 Home Association, 334-338 Second St. in Catasauqua, was cited with selling alcohol to nonmembers and possession or operation of gambling devices or paraphernalia on several occasions between Oct. 27, 2012, and Feb. 2.

• Liberty Lunch, 450 N. Seventh St. in Allentown, was cited for allegedly selling alcohol to a 20-year-old on Feb. 28.

• Detzi's Tavern, 570 Lehigh Ave. in Wind Gap, allegedly sold alcohol to an 18-year-old on March 21.

• The Hecktown Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, 230 Nazareth Pike in Lower Nazareth Township, was cited for allegedly possessing or operating a gambling device or paraphernalia on Jan. 17.
