Robert W. BeckRobert W. Beck

Robert W. Beck, financial adviser, managing director-investments at Wells Fargo Advisors in Allentown, has been named to the firm’s Premier Advisors Program. The designation is awarded in honor of an associate’s revenue generation, educational attainment and client-service practices.

Beck, of Allentown, has 29 years of experience in the brokerage industry. He has served as a financial adviser with Wells Fargo Advisors for 14 years. This is the seventh consecutive year he has been named to the Premier Advisors Program.

Beck earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Lehigh University.

Terese HaasTerese Haas

Terese Haas and Kathy E. Ruggiero have been promoted to vice presidents at National Penn Bancshares Inc.

Haas, of Orefield, has over 30 years of banking experience. She is branch manager of National Penn’s Schnecksville office, where she is responsible for day-to-day operations, generating new business and leading staff in sales, training and customer service. She joined National Penn in 2006.

Haas serves on the board of the Lehigh Valley Zoological Society. She is a member of the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce and the Women’s Business Council.

Haas earned business management certification from Lehigh Carbon Community College. She is a graduate of the Penn State continuing education management development program and has completed courses of the American Institute of Banking.

Kathy RuggieroKathy Ruggiero

Ruggiero, of Saylorsburg, is National Penn’s Bank Secrecy Act officer. She is responsible for overseeing the program and has 26 years of field experience. A certified anti-money laundering specialist, she joined National Penn in 2008. Ruggiero attended Northampton Community College. She is a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Ruggiero serves as National Penn’s team leader in the Women’s 5k Classic.

Jodi Coffin and Melissa Ford have been promoted to new positions at the Northeast Pennsylvania Lions Eye Bank in Hanover Township.

Coffin, of Allentown, has been named quality assurance administrative assistant. She will be responsible for assisting with quality assurance and quality control. She will conduct audits, manage final chart reviews, maintain the inventory of lab supplies and oversee post-operative follow-ups to ensure the satisfaction of transplanted tissue to recipients.

Coffin joined the Lions Eye Bank in January 2011 as a surgical recovery specialist transporting donated corneal tissue from regional hospitals to the eye bank for processing before being promoted to laboratory technician.

Ford, Lions Eye Bank distribution coordinator, has attained Certified Eye Bank Technician certification. She is responsible for the distribution of donated corneal tissue to surgeons for sight-restoring transplantations.

Ford joined the Eye Bank in 2009 as a surgical recovery specialist. In 2011, she was promoted to distribution coordinator in the laboratory. Her new certification makes her eligible to attain medical director designee status which will qualify her to review the donor medical history and evaluate the quality of the donated cornea in preparation for distribution to surgeons.

Melissa FordMelissa Ford

Ford earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience with a minor in biology from King’s College. She is a volunteer at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Allentown, the Second Harvest soup kitchen and the Health Lodge at Camp Trexler.

Founded by local Lions Club members in 1957, Northeast Pennsylvania Lions Eye Bank has provided over 30,000 corneas to surgeons for sight-restoring corneal transplantation. The Hanover Township Eye Bank works with more than 60 hospitals, hospice programs and funeral directors to procure donor eye tissue within a 37-county area of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Timothy EricksonTimothy Erickson
