A Monroe County man is in prison today after he got high on bath salts, barricaded himself in his neighbor's house and stabbed a samurai sword through a closet door, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Bradford Cole, no age given, of Chestnuthill Township, took the illegal salts, hallucinated and believed people were attacking and shooting at him, police at the Fern Ridge barracks said.

A little before midnight Cole ran to a neighbor's house in the 100 block of Lakeside Drive, claiming he was being chased, police said.

Cole forced his way into the house and barricaded himself in a children's playroom, destroying the playroom and stabbing the sword through a closet door, police said.

When officers arrived Cole was uncooperative and had to be shocked with a stun gun, police said. Police found bath salts in both of Cole's pockets.

Cole is charged with criminal trespass, a felony, as well as criminal mischief, making false reports, possession of a controlled substance, and two summary offenses, according to court records.

Cole was sent to Monroe County Prison in lieu of bail.
