The product was recalled by Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto, Giant says.

Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto has recalled Talenti German Chocolate Cake Gelato with best buy dates of Nov. 4, 2014, Nov. 24, 2014 M1, or Nov. 24, 2014 M2, due to an almond ingredient that was not declared on the label, Giant Food Stores announced this morning in a news release.

The 16-ounce cans have a UPC of 18685200063 and have been removed from Giant and Martin's Food Market shelves, the grocery company said.

Giant has not received any reports of adverse reactions to date, but people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat this product, the company said.

Anyone with concerns should discard the product and take the receipt to Giant for a complete refund, the company said.

Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto's customer service can be reached at 612-455-8104. Giant customer service can be reached  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1-888-814-4268.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto voluntarily recalled another lot of the product in June.
