Saturday will remain clear and snow will be seen on Sunday, according to the weather service.
Bands of precipitation will move across the region tonight, mixing with colder air, which could cause sleet late this evening and possibly change to snow before it ends, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J.
The weather service put out a special statement this afternoon and advises there could be some slippery spots as well, especially on overpasses and bridges.
Temperatures near the freezing point Saturday morning could cause any standing water on untreated roads to freeze, the weather service said. The service is advising motorists to be alert for any possible slippery traveling conditions, and to allow extra braking distance for other cars.
The weather service also has a hazardous weather outlook for this weekend and into the work week.
Though Saturday is expected to be clear, with a high in the upper 30s, according to the report, the Lehigh Valley can expect snow and sleet to develop Sunday afternoon and continue into Sunday night, mixing with and changing into freezing rain.
Rain is then expected from the Southeast to the Northeast.
Temperatures are expected to be between the upper 20s and lower 30s in and around the Lehigh Valley.
Reports for Monday are calling for rain and highs in the low 40s.
