Snow, sleet and freezing rain will impact the area starting Sunday afternoon.
Parts of Warren, Lehigh and Northampton counties are under a winter weather advisory from 2 p.m. Sunday to 3 a.m. Monday for snow, sleet and freezing rain, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J.
The weather service is predicting snow and sleet accumulations up to 1 to 2 inches and ice accumulations from one to two-tenths of an inch in the area.
Snow is expected to come into the area Sunday afternoon and early evening, and then it will mix with sleet late in the evening. It will change into freezing rain during the overnight, before finally turning into rain early Monday morning, according to the weather service. Temperatures will remain around 30 degrees and then slowly rise Monday.
Travel on untreated roads is expected to be hazardous, the weather service warns, and bridges and other elevated surfaces tend to ice first.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties, and motorists should use caution while driving and be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, the weather service said.
