PennDOT says it will "aggressively" treat roads throughout the storm.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is hoping you will delay your travel plans for today.
PennDOT says it will "aggressively" treat roads throughout the storm, but with fast-accumulating snow, drivers can expect rough conditions, the department says in a news release.
Because workers will focus first on interstates and highways, less-traveled roads could see more accumulation, the department says. Drivers should slow down and be extra cautious around snow-removal equipment.
PennDOT recommends drivers have an emergency kit in their vehicles that includes items such as "non-perishable food, water, first-aid supplies, warm clothes, a blanket, cell phone charger and a small snow shovel. Additionally, motorists should tailor their kits to any specific needs that they or their families have. Travelers should consider adding such items as baby supplies, extra medication, pet supplies, or even children's games."
