A Palmer Township man faces child abuse and assault charges in Warren County after he twice struck a toddler, court records say.
Ernest Jordan, 25, of the 3000 block of Forks Street, is accused of striking the 2-year-old girl on her leg with an open hand two times on Dec. 4 in Phillipsburg, records say.
The girl suffered bruising, welts and marks as a result of the incident, court documents say. Jordan’s relationship to the victim was not indicated in court records.
Town police arrested Jordan on Dec. 11 on charges of simple assault and child abuse.
He made his first appearance Dec. 12 in state Superior Court in Belvidere and was released pending additional court dates.
