Fires in Bethlehem and North Whitehall Township displace families, Red Cross reports

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley was called out to each of the fires Saturday night.

The Red Cross is assisting three families following fires Saturday in Bethlehem and North Whitehall Township.

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley was first called around 8 p.m. to an apartment complex fire on Sands Spring Road in North Whitehall Township, according to a news release.

The organization provided one adult with clothing, seasonal garments and food. A second family of two adults needed lodging and food.

The organization was called out around 9 p.m. to a single-family fire on Pawnee Street in Bethlehem. The Red Cross provided two adults and a child with food. The organization will help with additional services as needed, the news release states.
