New Jersey schools begin to make announcements.
The snow hasn't started but the early dismissal reports have.
Just before 6 this morning, Hackettstown police reported Hackettstown High School would release at 12:20 p.m., Hackettstown Middle School at 12:30, Hatchery Hill Elementary and Willow Grove Elementary at 12:30. (The dismissal times for the high school and middle school changed just before 7 o'clock.)
The school district explains the early closing because of "potentially inclement weather."
Lebanon Township and Clinton Township public schools in Hunterdon County and North Warren Regional in Warren County were also showing early releases. Keep an eye on early closings on the list.
Snow is supposed to start in earnest later this afternoon and is expected to be very heavy overnight.
The Easton Area, Bethlehem Area and Allentown school districts canceled after-school activities today.
