Police say 28-year-old Timothy Davison called 911 as he crossed from Maryland into Pennsylvania, heading north about 2 a.m. Saturday.
Pennsylvania State Police believe the shooter in an apparent road-rage slaying on Interstate 81 fled south after shooting the victim.
Police say 28-year-old Timothy Davison called 911 as he crossed from Maryland into Pennsylvania, heading north about 2 a.m. Saturday.
They say he reported that someone in a pickup truck was shooting at him. Police say the attacker then rammed Davison's vehicle into a grassy median and shot him.
The Patriot-News of Harrisburg reports that there are traffic cameras nearby, although it's not clear they captured the crime.
State police spokesman Rob Hicks says investigators hope to learn if the victim and assailant had crossed paths before.
Davison's father tells the Portland Press Herald that his son was returning home to Poland, Maine, after visiting relatives in Florida.
