The former Luzerne County official had been jailed for corruption.
A former NFL offensive lineman who has been serving time on a public corruption charge in northeastern Pennsylvania has been released early from prison.Greg Skrepenak will serve the rest of his term on home confinement. His prison term officially ends June 12 and will be followed by three years of probation.
He was sentenced in August 2010 to two years in federal prison for taking a $5,000 bribe from a developer while he was a Luzerne County commissioner.
He now is working full time as a researcher for a Kingston, Pa., law firm.
The firm's partners, his friends since the 1990s, say the job allows Skrepenak to live with his parents instead of at a halfway house.
Skrepenak was among more than 30 people nabbed in a federal corruption investigation.
