The Lehigh Valley will lose another 300 jobs between September and the middle of 2013 as ACCO Brands Corp. is closing the Day-Timers Inc. facility in Lower Macungie Township, according to a news release.

Employees were notified Wednesday, the parent company reports. Day-Timers does sales, marketing, manufacturing and distribution of planning products at its East Texas facility, the company reports.
"This was a difficult decision for us," said Thomas W. Tedford, executive vice president of ACCO Brands. "Our East Texas employees have been loyal and productive contributors to our success for many years. Nevertheless, our recent merger with the Mead Consumer & Office Products business has created a significant overlap in our Dated Goods business, and the best option for our company in the long term is to co-locate these businesses in a much larger facility in Sidney, N.Y."
Eligible full-time employees will receive severance, outplacement and other assistance, the company said.
