The educator and politician is accused of placing a camera in the communal showers at the Catholic high school that serves Hunterdon and Warren counties.
A middle school teacher and former freeholder candidate is accused of recording boys in the shower for nearly three years at Immaculata High School, where he volunteered.Patrick Lott, 54, had multiple computer files and digital recordings of nude teenagers showering at the Somerville, Somerset County, high school's communal showering area, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release.
Immaculata High School serves more than 750 students from Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex and Union counties, according to its website.
He was charged with child endangerment and invasion of privacy at today's court hearing, The Associated Press reports, during which he did not enter a plea.
Searches Dec. 13 and 16 of Lott's Eastern Avenue home in Somerville turned up the recordings, the prosecutor's office said, which included 15 teenagers -- nine identified as younger than 16.
Detectives have located where the camera was installed for the recordings, the prosecutor's office said.
Lott was arrested Dec. 23 and sent to Somerset County jail in lieu of $500,000 bail, the release said. As a condition of the bail, he is to have no contact with anyone younger than 16 years old, any victims or any Immaculata staff or faculty.
No one answered the phone this morning at the school. The prosecutor's office did not immediately return a call seeking more information about Lott's volunteerism at the school.
Lott is currently listed as the assistant principal at Bernards Middle School in Somerset County on that school's website.
Lott ran for a Somerset County freeholder seat about 20 years ago, according to The Star-Ledger, and most recently made an unsuccessful bid for a seat on Somerville Council. He previously served on the Somerville Republican Committee, the AP reports.
