Colonial Regional police say the driver, Reed Markovitz, of Tatamy, suffered minor injuries in the Route 191 crash. His passenger, Torrey Edwards, of Lower Nazareth Township, suffered moderate injuries.

Both were taken to St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill. Their conditions were unavailable Friday. Markovitz could not be reached for comment.

Laura Murante lives in the home in the 400 block of Nazareth Pike that was struck, according to neighbor Donald Clark. She was uninjured. Her home sustained minor structural damage, police said.

Markovitz submitted to a blood test to determine any level of alcohol in his system, police said; charges are pending results of the tests.

Drivers under age 21 in Pennsylvania face a drunken-driving charge with a blood-alcohol content of 0.02; the threshold for penalties for drivers 21 and older is 0.08.

Markovitz was southbound on Nazareth Pike when he lost control of the Camaro, crossed into the northbound lane, went sideways and returned to the southbound lane, police said.

The late model, white sports car entered one yard in the 400 block of Nazareth Pike and hit a utility pole, street sign and tree before crashing into the side of Murante's white-sided, three-story twin home on a neighboring property, according to police. The car suffered heavy damage.

Clark, who lives near the crash, said one occupant of the car was walking around after the crash.

He said he was surprised, because of heavy damage to the car's front and rear, there wasn't more damage to the house. There were skid marks on the road by Faust Auto Sales.

The vehicle was towed away just after 9 a.m.

The crash happened nearly a year to the day after a car being chased by police crashed into a home on the same block, Clark recalled.
