The company released a list of 79 Sears or Kmart stores that will close.
Sears Holding Corp. today announced a partial list of stores set to close, none of which are local.The company, the owner of Sears and Kmart brands, said Tuesday it would close more than 100 stores, only about 3 percent of its nationwide total, as part of a downsizing.
Sears has since released 79 of those locations, including two in Pennsylvania -- Upper Darby and Pottstown. None are in New Jersey.
None of the Kmart closings disclosed today are in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. The Illinois-based company said updates will be posted at searsmedia.com.
The company operates local Sears stores at the Phillipsburg and Whitehall malls plus Kmarts in Wilson Borough, Bethlehem Township, Pa., and Pen Argyl.
