LANTaBUS rates to increase, routes to change in coming weeks

The changes begin Monday on eight routes.

Some LANTaBUS rates are going up and routes are being tweaked in the coming weeks.

Effective Monday are changes to the following routes: 101, 102, 103, 105, 213, 215, 219 and 322. Visit lantabus.org for details.

Effective Oct. 1, rates are rising for a 10-ride ticket, from $15 to $16 (6.67 percent); 31-day pass, from $55 to $60 (9.1 percent); and annual pass, from $605 to $660 (9.1 percent).

The Lehigh And Northampton Transportation Authority announced the rate increase in April as part of its fiscal year 2013 budget.

Unchanged are the $2 cash fare, $1 student fare and $4 day pass. Prices last changed Oct. 1, with day passes increasing from $3 to $4, 10-ride tickets from $14 to $15 and 31-day passes from $50 to $55.

LANTaBus was formerly LANTA Metro. Fares and services for LANTaVan, formerly Metro Plus, are unchanged.
