A northwestern Pennsylvania woman will spend one and a half to 4 years in prison for repeatedly biting her 1-year-old son.
The Erie Times-News reports 24-year-old Patricia Wilson, of Erie, wept at her sentencing hearing Thursday and lamented no longer being able to see the boy.
That prompted Erie County Judge Shad Connelly to respond, "Why do you think he was taken away from you?"
Wilson pleaded guilty in October to endangerment and simple assault charges. Police say the boy's injuries came to light in December 2010 when he was taken to a hospital unresponsive.
Authorities later determined the boy was also badly bitten by Wilson's boyfriend at the time, who was sentenced to a slightly longer prison term last month.
